The Board of Trustees of Criswell College, meeting on Friday, December 2, has elected Dr. Barry Creamer, currently Professor of Humanities at Criswell College and Dean of Distance Education, as the new Vice President of Academic Affairs. Dr. Creamer is uniquely qualified for this role, stated Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, President of Criswell College. He brings twenty years of pastoral experience, a terrific educational background, and a number of years of academic experience to this position. He is often hailed as one of our students favorite professors and his heart for students and for discipleship is evidenced by all he does, not least of which is a weekly discipleship group with students in his home. We are excited to have him!

In this new role, Dr. Creamer will serve as Chief Academic Officer, overseeing the academic program and the faculty at the college. Alongside of Dr. Johnson, he will provide administrative direction and implement an excellent vision for the future. Dr. Creamer has been a mentor and friend to many students, said Andrew Hebert, Chief of Staff at Criswell and a former student of Creamers. Personally, I am thrilled that Dr. Creamer will help shape the future of this school in a greater way.

Dr. Creamer has served as the Professor of Humanities at Criswell College since 2004, where he also has served as Dean of Distance Education and host of the daily college radio program For Christ and Culture. Previously, Dr. Creamer served as pastor of Woodland West Baptist Church in Arlington for seventeen years. He also has served in numerous other churches in various pastoral roles. Dr. Creamer has a B.A. in English from Baylor University, an M.Div. from Criswell College, and a Ph.D. in Humanities from the University of Texas at Arlington. In addition to his extensive pastoral experience, Dr. Creamer has taught at several universities, including the University of Texas at Arlington and Texas Womens University. He is married to Joan and has four children.
